Pembelajaran Kosakata: Pengenalan Benda Berbahan Logam dan Nonlogam Dalam Bahasa Inggris Di Gampong Krueng Mak, Kecamatan Simpang Tiga, Aceh Besar

Abstract


Abstract: Vocabulary introduction aims to introduce objects that are around, especially objects made of metal and non-metal found and used in everyday life. This activity was carried out in one of the villages in Simpang Tiga Gampong Krueng Mak, Aceh Besar. Those who take part in this tutoring activity are elementary school age children. The vocabulary activity was done interactively by using a contextual strategy which so the participants can easily remember the vocabulary that has been taught. This activity was done for one month with three meetings and last for one hour in each meeting. From the results, it can be seen that the children showed high interest and enthusiasm while learning the vocabulary. This can be seen from the mastery of their new vocabulary about metal and nonmetal objects. Therefore, learning English, especially vocabulary mastery, must be taught in an interesting, creative, and fun way.

 Kegiatan bimbingan belajar pengenalan kosakata ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan benda-benda yang ada disekitar khususnya benda berbahan logam dan non logam yang sering dijumpai dan digunakan dikehidupan sehari-hari. Bimbingan belajar ini dilaksanakan pada salah satu desa di Kecamatan Simpang Tiga yaitu Gampong Krueng Mak, Aceh Besar. Adapun yang mengikuti kegiatan bimbingan belajar ini adalah anak-anak usia sekolah dasar. Kegiatan pengenalan kosakata ini dilakukan secara interaktif dan kontekstual yang dimaksudkan agar anak-anak dapat mudah mengingat kosakata yang telah diajarkan. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan selama 1 bulan dengan 3 kali pertemuan selama 1 jam disetiap pertemunanya. Dari hasil kegiatan bimbingan ini anak-anak menunjukkan minat dan semangat yang tinggi selama mengikuti bimbingan belajar. Hal ini terlihat dari penguasaan jumlah kosakata baru mereka. Oleh karena itu, pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris khususnya pembelajaran kosakata harus dilakukan dengan cara yang menarik dan kreatif, dan menyenangkan.
