Abstract


Abstract: The diversity of food in consumption patterns is something that needs to be considered to
ensure the adequacy of the nutrients needed in the body, but the level of community dependence on
rice has not changed even though agricultural products in Indonesia are so diverse. Therefore,
alternative foodstuffs began to be developed due to the increasing demand for food. One of the
tubers that has been developed is porang. Porang is a tuber plant that has high economic value and
contains carbohydrates. Based on the results of community service activities regarding the
socialization of porang plant cultivation, it showed that the participants did not know the type of
porang plant but with this activity they admitted that they were happy because they could provide
insight and knowledge and improve community expertise about porang plant cultivation.
