Analisis Merkuri Dalam Krim Pemutih Wajah Racikan Dokter Secara Spektrofotometri Serapan Atom

Abstract


Cream bleach is one of the cosmetics which is often used by women to whiten their skin, especially the face. One of the banned bleach ingredients used in whitening cream is mercury.The use of mercury in whitening creams may lead to a variety of problemsstarted from skin discoloration and at high doses, it may cause permanent damage to the brain and cancer.The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not mercury contained in the self-formulated/blended whitening cream that circulated in Banda Aceh city and to find out how much mercury in the cream of self-formulated facial bleach circulating in the city of Banda Aceh.The method used in this research was quantitative analysis with atomic absorption spectrophotometry (AAS). Thesamples of bleach creams were 6. The sampling technique used was random sampling. The results showed that six samples contained mercury with the concentration of sample A 199,0535 ppb, sample B 70,9447 ppb, sample C 21,3010 ppb, sample D 39,7195 ppb, sample E 13,8664 ppb and in sample F 20,2458 ppb. whitening creams sold in the city of Banda Aceh were not safe to use.
