EFEKTIVITAS EKSTRAK DAUN PEPAYA (CARICA PAPAYA L) SEBAGAI ANTIINFLAMASI

Abstract


Inflammation is a local protective response that results from tissue damage. Habits of people using natural materials as anti-inflammatory is still ongoing until today. One of the anti-inflammatory development is papaya leaf (Carica papaya L). The purpose of this study to determine the effectiveness of antiinflamasi leaf extraction Carica papaya L derived from methanol solvent. Method : experimental using pre and post test controlled trial. Samples are fresh papaya leaves as much as 2 kg then dried and powdered. Papaya leaf extraction each with methanol solvent and n-hexane in maceration, dose 200, 400 mg / kg bb, positive compound (indomethacin) dose 10 mg / kg bb, negative control CMC 1% .Testing on 36 male Wistar rats, 150-250 gram weight and 8 weeks old are divided into 6 groups. Group 1: CMC 1%, grup 2: indomethacin (dose 10 mg/kg bb), group 3: methanol extract (dose 200 mg / kg bb), group 4: methanol extract (dose 400 mg / kg bb), group 5: n-hexane extract (dose 200 mg / kg bb), group 6: n-hexane extract (dose 400 mg / kg bb), each group is given by mouth, suspension form. Result: methanol extract and n-hexane dose 400 mg / kg bb gave the same anti-inflammatory effect with indomethacin suspension dose 10 mg / kg bb and gives a better effect than the suspension of methanol extract and n-hexane dose 200 mg / kg bb.
