Abstract


Abstract: Acute otitis media (OMA) is an acute inflamation of the middle ear that lasts less than three weeks ago. The middle ear is the space in the ear that is located between the tympanic membrane and the ear associated with the nasioharync throught the eustachian tube. OMA is a common disease in children compared to other age groups. It affects the Eustachian tube position of children in the middle ear development phase is more horizontal, short, and wide with minimal drainage compared to adult age. Based on the results of the study obtained the results of research that have higher thinking than acute otitis media (30,4%), compared with respondents who have no relationship (41,7%). After chi-square statistical test obtained p-value 0.001 so that  it can be accepted by the work hypothesis (ha) is accepted, there are factors realted the incidence of acute otitis media in infants in the ENT-KL polyclinic at Meuraxa Hospital Banda Aceh City
