Abstract

Abstract: The condition of stress is not only caused by the phycological factors but also can be caused by
pathophysiological factors. One of the pathophysiological factors that mostly be the contributing factors is the
existence of acne vulgaris. This study aims to determine the relationship of stress with the incidence of acne
vulgaris that occurs from May 20 to May 27, 2019. This study used a correlational descriptive by incorporating
the cross-sectional design. The total sample was 81 respondents. The result showed that 54.3% of respondents
with environmental factors, 69.1% of respondents with cognitive factors, 59.3% of respondents with personality
factors, 71.6% of respondents with socio-cultural factors, as many as 69, 1% of respondents with stressful events
and 39.5% of respondents with moderate acne vulgaris. Using the bivariate calculation showed that there was a
relationship between stress and the incidence of acne vulgaris among students in SMP Negeri 2 Banda Aceh
