Abstract

Abstract: Based on the intensity, aerobic exercise is low, medium and high. Different intensities differ in energy sources for activity. Low intensity aerobic exercise mostly uses fat oxidation, high intensity aerobic lathans mostly use carbohydrate oxidation, while moderate intensity aerobic exercise uses the same fatty and carbohydrate oxidation. Fat oxidation can cause fat loss in visceral and subcutaneous tissue. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect difference between moderate and low intensity aerobic exercise on total cholesterol reduction. This research is Quasi Experiment research is taken by non probality sampling with purposive sampling method. This study was conducted to determine differences in total cholesterol reduction before and after exercise program in the control group, mild and moderate. This research was conducted in the laboratory of Physiology Faculty of Medicine Abulyatama. The sample in this study amounted to 30 people, with a sample of 10 controls, 10 light and 10 medium groups. From this study it can be concluded that there is a significant difference p= 0.01 between pretest and postest in exercise group with mild and moderate intensity.
