TINGKAT PEMAHAMAN MAHASISWI TERHADAP PENGGUNAAN PEMUTIH KULIT WAJAH (SKIN BLEACHING) DI UNIVERSITAS ABULYATAMA

Abstract

Whitening cosmetics are cosmetics that contain whitening active ingredients and their use aims to brighten the skin or whiten the skin. Currently, many people use whitening cosmetics without knowing what ingredients are contained in whitening cosmetics and what side effects will arise if they use whitening cosmetics that contain dangerous ingredients. Based on the data obtained, there are a lot of whitening cosmetics used by the public, most of which contain dangerous ingredients, but due to the lack of understanding and information among the public regarding whitening cosmetic products, they are not careful in choosing the cosmetic products they use. Therefore, the author is interested in conducting research on the level of understanding and attitudes of female students at Abulyatama University regarding the dangers of whitening cosmetics on skin health. This study aims to determine and obtain an overview of the level of understanding and attitudes of female students regarding skin bleaching at Abulyatama University in using whitening cosmetics after the danger of whitening cosmetics to skin health. This research is a descriptive observational study on female students about (Skin Bleaching) at Abulyatama University. Sampling used Simple Random Sampling Technique and used primary data collected through questionnaires. Based on the results of the research and recapitulation of answers to questionnaires given to female students regarding Skin Bleaching at Abulyatama University, it can be concluded that of the 83 respondents who filled out the questionnaire, 64 people (77.1%) used whitening cosmetics and 19 people (22.9%) who did not use whitening cosmetics. There were 44 female students (53.0%) with good understanding, 19 people (22.9%) with sufficient understanding, 1 person (1.2%) with poor understanding. Meanwhile, there were 11 students (13.3%) with good understanding, 7 people (8.4%) with sufficient understanding. people (1.2%) with poor understanding. Meanwhile, the attitudes of female students regarding skin bleaching at Abulyatama University, among students who use cosmetics, there are 64 students (77.1%) who have a positive attitude and 19 students (22.9%) who do not use whitening cosmetics also have a positive attitude.
