PENATALAKSANAAN PADA ANAK USIA 11 TAHUN DENGAN VARICELLA MELALUI PENDEKATAN KEDOKTERAN KELUARGA: LAPORAN KASUS

Abstract

Varicella is a skin infection caused by VZV Zoster. Varicella incidence rates for each country, including Indonesia. More than 90% of children are infected with VZV before the age of 15 years. Holistic treatment using a family medicine approach is needed to prevent complications by using patient-centered, family-approaching and community-oriented. This study is a case report. Primary data was obtained through alloanamnesis, physical examination, home visits.Assessment based on a holistic diagnosis from the beginning, process and end of the research is carried out quantitatively and qualitatively. An 11 year old girl came with complaints of small nodules on her neck, body, back, arms, thighs and calves since 1 week ago accompanied by itching. Nodules in the form of crusts with an erythema base, round shape like dew drops with billions in size, multiple, and well-defined. Clinically and on physical examination the patient was diagnosed with Varicella. Internal risk factors include a lack of knowledge regarding disease and personal hygiene such as bathing and washing hands. External risk factors include a lack of family knowledge, family treatment patterns that treat illnesses themselves before going to the health center, and poor house hygiene. Medical and non-medical interventions were carried out on patients and families with education in 3 visits. Based on the evaluation results, it was found that there was an increase in knowledge about the disease and changes in behavior in patients.
