Tanggapan Pertumbuhan Tanaman Jagung Manis (Zea mays saccharata Sturt) Pada Jarak Tanam Yang Berbeda

Abstract


This research  aims to determine the appropriate planting distance for the growth of sweet corn planted at an altitude of 360 m above sea level. This research was conducted in Payakumer Village, Tripe Jaya District, Gayo Lues Regency. This study uses a non-factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with 3 replications, the factors being examined are the row spacing factor (J) which consists of three levels, namely: JT1 = 50 cm x 20 cm, JT2 = 70  cm x 40 cm, and JT3 = 75 cm x 25 cm. The variables observed in this study were plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), and stem circumference (cm). The results showed that the treatment of row spacing significantly affected plant height, number of leaves and age stem diameter. In general, the best results are found at row spacing of 70 cm x 40 cm.
