Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine the division of women labor farmers in farming corps and ducks in the swampy land. We can use the result as one of the factors that can be considered if we conduct a mentoring activity.  This research was carried out in Sungai Durait Hulu village, Babirik District, Hulu Sungai Utara Regency, South Kalimantan.  The research method uses a quantitative approach with a survey method, which takes a sample from one population using a questionnaire as a data collection tool. The variables studied for rice and vegetable farming include land preparation, nursery, planting, maintenance, harvesting, and marketing. Meanwhile, duck farming includes preparation, housing, care, egg collection, cleaning of livestock waste, and marketing. The data of these variables were analyzed by the percentage method. The result showed that women have a role in farming rice, vegetables, and ducks and processing products that support farming in the form of livestock herbs and PGPR. The involvement of women’s division of labor in rice farming was 39,22%, with the most significant activity being the planting activity. The participation of the women’s division of labor in vegetable farming is 38,12%. Women’s movements in vegetable farming have a significant role in seedling, harvesting, and marketing activities. The involvement of women’s division of labor in duck farming is 36,03%. Women’s movements in duck farming have a significant role in providing feed and drinking, cleaning, administering medicines, harvesting eggs, and marketing. The involvement of women’s division of labor in the production of livestock herbs and mango leaf tea has a prominent role at above 50%, while in production of PGPR was dominated by men. Women are advised to get the same portion and opportunity as men in farming coaching, training, or counselling.
