Abstract


Abstract: Increasing production through technical efficiency is currently an important alternative, because it can increase potential output for farmers. Technical efficiency is very important to pay attention to as an effort to increase cassava productivity. Agricultural products can provide more profits and added value if the products are processed through various production processes. The aim of the research is to find out whether cassava farming efficient and how much added value is obtained from processing cassava into original cassava chips in Pasie Raya District, Aceh Jaya Regency. The research methodology used is the "Census Method". The data analysis method uses the Cobb-Douglas production function and added value analysis. Data was analyzed using the SPSS application. The research results based on the RTS analysis of cassava farming in the research area were obtained at 0.997. In the RTS analysis it can be said that cassava farming production is in a condition of decreasing output scale (decrease return to scale), because the sum of the values of the coefficients of production factors is less than one. (∑β < 1). This means that an increase in production factors of 1% will result in additional production output of 0.997%. The added value results show that the average raw material used for cassava chips is 366 kg per production. And the added value of cassava chips is IDR 5,250,436/per production and the value added ratio is 71.33%, meaning that the output value is the added value obtained from agro-industrial processing of cassava chips.
