Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Pengambilan Keputusan Keluarga untuk Memanfaatkan Sarana Pelayanan Imunisasi Bayi di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Baiturrahman Kota Banda Aceh

Abstract

Basic Immunization is an early provision of immunization for infants to achieve their body immune’s rate. In fact, low rates immunization coverage is inseparable from health sector’s behavior, especially parents’ decision when immunizing their children. Health behavior is affected by several factors, including knowledge, family support, and also the availability and the unavailability of the health facilities. This research aims to investigate factors that affect family decision making to utilize the immunization service facilities, in Baiturrahman Community Health Center, Banda Aceh. This research was a descriptive correlation with cross sectional design. The population was all families who have 0-11 month babies and live in Baiturrahman Community Health Center Area. The sample was 515 people chosen by using the accidental sampling technique. This research was conducted from November 24 - December 26, 2020. The data were processed by using Chi-Square Statistic Test. The result showed that there were the effect of knowledge (p=0,024), family support (p=0,002) and the distance to health service places (p=0,007) towards family decision-taking to utilize infant immunization service facilities. It is hoped that this research could be a valuable input for health workers in order to activate their role in providing information such as by posters form and counseling which related to infant basic immunization completeness and the benefits of immunization facilities service. This is done as a way to improve the coverage infant basic immunization completeness, and also to reduce disease morbidity which can prevented by immunization (PD3I).
