Pengaruh Durasi Penggunaan Gadget Terhadap Kelelahan Mata Pada Mahasiswa Pendidikan Dokter Universitas Abulyatama

Abstract


Eye fatigue according to medical science is a symptom due to interference experienced by the eye due to the coercion of the eye muscles to work, especially when having to see objects close for a long time. All activities related to coercion of the eye muscles can cause symptoms such as painful eyes, red eyes, watery eyes, double vision, headaches and decreased eye acuity. This study aims to determine the effect of using gadgets with eye fatigue in medical education students at Abulyatama University. Data analysis in this study used univariate and bivariate analysis. This research focuses on students in 2017, 2018 and 2019 with the criteria of students who do not wear glasses ang students who have never experienced trauma to the eye. The number of samples used was 155 respondents. The results of the univariate study duration of using gadgets were found to be 80,6 % and the univariate results of eye fatigue were 65,2 % and the bivariate value in the study 65,4 % for those who complaines about eye fatigue complaints and 34 % for respondents who did not complain about eye fatigue. So that the p- Value is 0,019 which means that there is a significant effect between the duration of gadget use and eye fatigue.
