Abstract

Niacinamide or nicotinamide is a potential anti-inflammatory for various skin diseases. Inflammatory reduction acts as the main mechanism of niacinamide in the treatment of acne vulgaris. In a recent study it was stated that the use of niacinamide is well tolerated by the skin, even able to produce beneficial effects such as can reduce sebum production. Topical Niacinamide produces a good anti-inflammatory effect and does not trigger bacterial resistance. This study aims to compare the clinical effectiveness of 4% topical niacinamide and clindamycin 1% topical in mild-moderate acne vulgaris at the Abulyatama University Medical School in Banda Aceh. others were conducted on April 27 to June 8, 2018. The respondents were 7 respondents who were obtained in a double-blind randomized control trial design. The results of the study generally show that there is no significant difference between acne vulgaris and clindamycin 1%. Where it is found that the T-Test test value is 1.025 <2.5706, there is no significant difference between acne vulgaris and niacinamide 1%, which found that the T test value -Test 2,390 <2,5706. Based on the results above, it was found that in the use of topical drugs there will be differences including depending on drug match and type of face so that it can affect the treatment process.
