Abstract


One of the technologies that play an important role as the biggest supporter of energy use in the household is the stove. Therefore, the design of a stove using this type of biomass fuel is an alternative and a solution to save energy today. One type of biomass stove is a type of rocket stove. The combustion process is a chemical reaction between fuel and oxygen. In this process, it is necessary to pay attention to the ratio between the amount of fuel and oxygen (which is represented by the air flow rate) so that the combustion process is close to complete. For combustion efficiency on the rocket stove, the blower valve has a significant influence on the working performance of the rocket stove. This study aims to see and analyze how the effect of blower valve opening on the performance of a rocket furnace that uses biomass fuel. The research method refers to descriptive qualitative. The results obtained from the test on the effect of blower valve opening on the performance of this rocket furnace using palm shell biomass fuel, namely, 2 kg of palm shell at full opening produces a temperature of 237℃, while the blower valve opening produces a temperature of 221℃, and at 1/3 blower valve opening produces a temperature of 304℃.
