Abstract

Falls are associated with reduced quality of life and can have psychological consequences, namely fear of falling and loss of self-confidence resulting in immobilization. This immobilization can increase the risk of falls and contribute to decreased physical abilities and social interactions. Research Objectives Analyze Elderly Knowledge of Fall Risk Prevention in Aceh Social Welfare Institutions. This research uses quantitative research methods, with a Pre-Experiment research design and uses a One group pretest-posttest research design. The sample in this study used purposive sampling, which means that the researcher determined 43 elderly respondents to be used as samples who were in Social Welfare Institutions in Aceh. The instruments used in this research used the Morse Fall Scale and Knowledge questionnaire sheets. The results of the research are differences in the knowledge of elderly people regarding preventing the risk of falls before and after being given counseling at the Aceh Social Welfare Institution with a value of p = 0.000. Researchers hope that the elderly with knowledge education conducted by researchers can prevent them from being at risk of falling.
