Abstrak

Abstract: The condition of stress is not only caused by the phycological factors but also can be caused bypathophysiological factors. One of the pathophysiological factors that mostly be the contributing factors is theexistence of acne vulgaris. This study aims to determine the relationship of stress with the incidence of acnevulgaris that occurs from May 20 to May 27, 2019. This study used a correlational descriptive by incorporatingthe cross-sectional design. The total sample was 81 respondents. The result showed that 54.3% of respondentswith environmental factors, 69.1% of respondents with cognitive factors, 59.3% of respondents with personalityfactors, 71.6% of respondents with socio-cultural factors, as many as 69, 1% of respondents with stressful eventsand 39.5% of respondents with moderate acne vulgaris. Using the bivariate calculation showed that there was arelationship between stress and the incidence of acne vulgaris among students in SMP Negeri 2 Banda AcehTahun 2019 with the p-value = 0,001. It is suggested that the school has to implement stress managementeffectively through motivational and counseling as an effort to combat stress and acne vulgaris.
