HUBUNGAN PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER III TERHADAP KONSUMSI ZAT BESI (TABLET FE) DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS INDRAPURI KABUPATEN ACEH BESAR

Abstract

Iron supplementation or administration of Fe tablets is an important effort in preventing and treating anemia, especially iron deficiency anemia. Compliance in consuming iron tablets is the obedience of pregnant women in carrying out the recommendations of health workers to consume iron tablets. Compliance with taking iron tablets was measured by the number of tablets consumed, the accuracy of how to take iron tablets, and the frequency of consumption per day. Non-adherence of pregnant women taking iron tablets can have a greater chance of developing anemia. Data from the Midwifery Polyclinic in the Indrapuri Health Center Work Area in 2022, there were 225 pregnant women recorded and 36 of them had anemia. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women towards consumption of iron (Fe tablets). The type of research used is analytical research with a cross sectional approach. Data collection was carried out from 8 to 11 August 2023. The population in this study were pregnant women in their third trimester or above 28 weeks in the Indrapuri Health Center Work Area, totaling 91 respondents. The results of the study using the Chi-square test obtained a p value (0.000) < α (0.05) meaning that Ha is accepted, so there is a relationship between pregnant women's knowledge of consumption of iron (Fe tablets) and p value (0.000) < α (0.05 ) means that Ha is accepted, then there is a relationship between the attitude of pregnant women towards the consumption of iron (Fe tablets). Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that there was a relationship between the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women towards the consumption of iron (Fe tablets) in the Working Area of the Indrapuri Health Center, Aceh Besar District. It is expected that pregnant women will increase their knowledge and attitudes towards consuming Fe tablets to reduce maternal mortality (MMR).
