FAKTOR -FAKTOR PENYEBAB KEMATIAN NEONATUS DI KABUPATEN GAYO LUES
Abstract
Neonatal mortality is the death of a neonate born alive at 20 weeks gestation or more, even if life is only transient (breathing, heart rate, voluntary muscle movement, or pulsation in the umbilical cord). The 3rd Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target a maternal mortality rate of less than 70 per 100,000 live births, neonatal mortality rate of 12 per 1000 live births and under-five mortality rate of 25 per 1000 live births. To be able to reduce neonatal mortality, it is necessary to know the factors involved so that appropriate solutions can be provided. This study used secondary data from the Indonesian Family Life Survey 2014. This research is a quantitative study using a cross-sectional study design with sampling using multistage random sampling to obtain a sample of 4129 respondents who fit the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data analysis of this study used complex samples analysis consisting of three stages, namely univariate, bivariate using chi square test and multivariate using multiple logistic regression prediction model. The prevalence of neonatal death in this data was 16.71 per 1000 live births. The variable of birth weight was the most dominant variable that influenced the incidence of neonatal death after being controlled by other variables (PR = 10.440; 95% CI = 6.014-18.124). Suggestions from this study are that health workers should be more active in providing information about the importance of conducting antenatal care visits to pregnant women, intervening in nutritional status and food alternatives for pregnant women who have dietary restrictions.Downloads
