PENINGKATAN KEAKTIFAN SISWA SMK KELAS WIRAUSAHA MELALUI METODE PEER TUTORING PADA PEMBELAJARAN DASAR KULINER

Abstract

Student engagement as an indicator of learning success is often not fully achieved, especially in teacher in teacher- centered learning environments. This Study aims to : 1) exxamimen the implementation of the peer tutoring method to improve student engagement in the Culinary Fundamentals subject among 10^th grade Culinary Entrepreneurship students; and 2) analyze the improvement of student engangement through the implementation of the peer tutoring method in the Culinary Fundamentals subject among 10^th grade Culinary Entrepreneurship student. This study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles consisting of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 10^th grade Culinary Entrepreneurship students at SMK Negeri 3 Malang. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, student engagement assessment sheets, and documentation. The results of the observation analysis showed that the percentages for each engagement indicator were paying attention 73.57%, asking and answering questions 76.43%, discussion and cooperation 95%, task completion 96.43%, and enthusiasm or responsiveness 81.43%. These findings indicate that student engagement in the learning process was relatively high. Therefore, the peer tutoring method can be considered an effective, interactive, and student-centered larning strategy in the Culinary Fundamentals subject
