FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN PENGETAHUAN IBU HAMIL TENTANG PELAKSANAAN PROGRAM PREVENTION OF MOTHER TO CHILD HIV TRANSMISSION (PMTCT) DI PUSKESMAS SEULIMEUM ACEH BESAR

Abstract


Pregnant women are a group that is very vulnerable to disease, one of which is HIV. The government is trying to reduce cases of HIV transmission from mother to child, through the PMTCT program. Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) which aims to prevent the transmission of HIV from the mother to the baby she is carrying. Based on data from the Ministry of Health in 2015, the number of children aged ≤ 4 years who were infected with HIV was 795, increasing in 2016 to 903. The PMTCT program is considered effective and able to reduce the incidence of HIV transmitted from mother to baby, through interventions carried out during pregnancy and childbirth, and breastfeeding. The aim of this research is to determine the factors related to maternal knowledge regarding the implementation of the PMTCT (Prevention of Mother To Child Hiv Transmission) program for pregnant women at the Seulimeum Community Health Center in 2023. This research is an analytical study with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study was all 139 pregnant women from January to April 2023. The data collection technique was Non Random Sampling using the Accidental Sampling technique, totaling 37 respondents. The analysis technique was carried out using the Chi-Square test. The research results obtained were that there was a significant relationship between knowledge about the PMTCT examination program and education (p = 0.001), social culture (p = 0.011) and health worker information (p = 0.002) in pregnant women at the Seulimeum Community Health Center, Aceh Besar Regency. Conclusion there is a significant relationship between education, social culture and health information and the implementation of the PMTCT program. Respondents are expected to carry out examinations at the Prevention of Mother to Child HIV Transmission (PMTCT) Program.
