Abstract
Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer in women that causes death. Cervical cancer can actually be prevented early by conducting early detection using screening, one of which is the Visual Inspection of Acetic Acid (VIA) test. According to the Indonesian Ministry of Health, about 21 thousand women die as a result of being diagnosed with this disease. Data from the Aceh Health Office, throughout 2022 the number of people with cervical cancer was 186 people. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and information with the interest of PUS to conduct an IVA Test examination in the Working Area of UPTD Puskesmas Ulee Kareng, Banda Aceh City in 2024. This study used an analytical survey method with a cross sectional study approach. The population in this study were all PUS in the period January-May 2024 as many as 395 people. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, namely 80 people. Data analysis using the Chi-Square Test (x2) at the level of significance is 95% (p <0.05). The results of the statistical test showed that there was a relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.001) and information (p-value = 0.030) with the interest of PUS to do the VIA test. It is expected that health workers can be an input in providing health education for PUS about the importance of early detection of cervical cancer and collaborate with related parties to provide counselling so that PUS are interested in preventing cervical cancer.
