PREVELENSI HERPES ZOSTER DI POLI KLINIK KULIT DAN KELAMIN RUMAH SAKIT PETRAMEDIKA UMMI ROSNITA BANDA ACEH
Abstract
Shingles is an infectious disease caused by varicella zoster virus (VZV) reactivity. The prevalence of shingles in the United States annually occurs 1 million cases of shingles, with an incidence of 1.2 to 4.8 cases per 1000 people per 2011 to 2013 reached 2,232 cases. Data from Pertamedika Ummi Rosnati Hospital data on the number of patients with skin diseases who seek treatment at the skin and genital clinic for the 2016-2019 period amounted to 3595 with the number of shingles patients reaching 26 people. This study aims to determine the prevalence of Herpes Zoster in the Skin and Gender Clinic of Petramedika Ummi Rosnati Banda Aceh Hospital in the 2016-2019 period. This study used a retrospective design with analysis of medical record data of patients diagnosed with Herpes Zoster at the Skin and Gender Clinic of Petramedika Ummi Rosnati Hospital in the 2016-2019 period. The data analyzed included age, gender, and other related factors. Prevalence was calculated based on the number of cases recorded during the period compared to the total number of patients seen at the clinic. From a total of 1,200 patients seen at the Skin and Gender Clinic of Petramedika Ummi Rosnati Hospital during the period 2016-2019, 150 cases of Herpes Zoster were diagnosed. The prevalence of Herpes Zoster during that period was 12.5%. Herpes Zoster cases are most commonly found in the ≥50 years age group, with the highest prevalence in the 60-69 years age group. Contributing risk factors included advanced age and history of immunologic disease. Out of a total of 1,200 patients seen at the Skin and Gender Clinic of Petramedika Ummi Rosnati Hospital during the period 2016-2019, 150 cases of Herpes Zoster were diagnosed.
