GAMBARAN KELAINAN REFRAKSI PADA SISWA/I DI SD ABULYATAMA

Abstract


Refractive disorders are the leading visual impairment in the world and the second leading cause of treatable blindness. This study aims to determine the description of refractive disorders in students at Abulyatama Elementary School. This type of research is quantitative descriptive with a cross-sectional time approach. The study was conducted in may 2024. Sampling in this study uses a random sampling technique. The sample in this study amounted to 60 respondents. The data collection technique in this study was by taking visual acuity measurement data. Data analysis was carried out in this study with a percentage. The results showed that out of 60 respondents and the results obtained 43 people (71.7%) did not experience abnormalities (emmetropia), 14 people (23.3%) experienced myopia, 2 people (3.3%) experienced astigmatism, and 1 person (1.7%) experienced hypermetropia. Children who do not experience refractive disorders are 19 boys (31.7%) and 24 girls (40%), those who experience myopia refractive disorders are 5 boys (8.3%) and 9 girls (15%), those who experience astigmatism refractive disorders are 2 female students (3.3%) and those who experience hypermetropia refractive disorders are 1 male student (1.7%). Detection of eye disorders in Abulyatama Elementary School students can be done through periodic screening. Students who experience refractive disorders are advised to get treatment at health facilities.
