Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of light and moderate intensity aerobic exercise on random blood sugar levels in physical education students at Abulyatama University. The type of research used in this study is experimental research. This research was conducted at Abulyatama University from january 2024. Sample collection was carried out using the purposive sampling method, namely 30 physical education students at Abulyatama University. Data collection techniques in this study used accu check sheets, observation sheets and identity documents. The data in this study were analyzed by comparing blood sugar levels before and after aerobic exercise. The statistical tests used were Paired Sample T-Test and Independent Sample T-Test to determine the difference between blood sugar results before and after aerobic exercise with a significant level, α = 0.05. The results of the data analysis showed that the paired sample test of light intensity and moderate intensity showed sig 0.01 <0.05. If the sig value > α is smaller than 0.05 then H0 is rejected or Ha is accepted which means there is an effect of light and moderate intensity aerobic exercise on GULA levels. Furthermore, the results of the independent sample t-test show that the test results between the data of the group given light intensity aerobic exercise and the data of the group given moderate intensity aerobic exercise have a significance of 0.003 <α then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that Ha which says there is a difference between the effect of light intensity aerobic exercise and moderate intensity aerobic exercise on blood sugar levels in physical education students, is accepted.
