FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG MEMPENGARUHI KEJADIAN PTEREGIUM PADA PASIEN DI POLIKLINIK RSPUR BANDA ACEH
Abstract
Pterygium is considered an irritative phenomenon caused by ultraviolet light and often occurs in farmers and herders who are daily outdoors, under the hot sun, in dusty or sandy areas. The trigger of pterygium is not only from the etiology but there are risk factors that affect it, including age, gender, type of pterygium, occupation, and the number of diagnosed eyes.Objective: To determine the factors associated with the incidence of pterygium in the polyclinic of RSPUR banda aceh in 2023 research on January 12, 2024. Research Methods: This study was retrospective with a cross sectional approach. The population is all pterygium patients who seek treatment at the RSPUR banda aceh polyclinic and a sample of 126 people. Analysis was performed using the Chi-square test. Research Results: There are 126 pterygium patients. with the characteristics of the most age group is age> 40 years, namely 74 patients (58.7%), the most gender is female, namely 71 patients (56.3%), the most work is patients who work indoors as many as 68 patients (54%) and the most infected location of the pterygium is bilateral as many as 71 patients (56.3%). And the most common type of pterygium is degree III-IV as many as 65 patients (51.6%). Conclusion: The incidence of pterygium from 126 cases studied occurred mostly in degree III-IV, female gender, aged> 40 years and working indoors and bilateral.
