PENYULUHAN TINGKAT PENGETAHUAN DAN SIKAP SISWA TENTANG PENYAKIT DEMAM BERDARAH DENGUE DI SMP ABULYATAMA ACEH BESAR
Abstract
Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an infectious disease caused by the dengue virus. Transmission is through the bite of mosquitoes known as Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. The high incidence of dengue fever in several places is due to many factors. One of the factors that influences the increase in dengue cases is that community knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding dengue prevention are still low.Objective: To describe the knowledge, attitudes and practices of preventing dengue virus infection among students at Abulyatama Middle School, Aceh Besar. Method: This study used a cross sectional design. The total sample was 116 families using simple random sampling techniques. This study used a questionnaire consisting of characteristics, knowledge of dengue virus infection, attitudes and practices for preventing dengue virus infection. Results: In this study, the majority of respondents' knowledge regarding dengue virus infection was high, namely 108 (93.1%) and 8 (6.9%) in the low category, attitudes towards preventing dengue virus infection were all positive, namely 116 (100%). Meanwhile, the majority of dengue virus infection prevention practices were good, namely 98 (84.5%), less than 18 (15.5%). Conclusions and suggestions: Community knowledge is high, all respondents have a positive attitude, so that in terms of prevention practices the community is good. However, it is hoped that health workers or jumantik cadres will further improve the dengue prevention program.
