PENGARUH SENAM KAKI TERHADAP KADAR GULA DARAH SEWAKTU PADA PENDERITA DIABETES MELITUS TIPE II DI GAMPONG COT MANCANG
Abstract
DM is a disease that requires lifelong management in controlling blood sugar levels. One of the management of DM is foot exercise. Aims to improve blood circulation so that nutrients to the tissues are smoother, strengthen small muscles, calf muscles and thigh muscles, reduce blood sugar levels and overcome joint motion limitations. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of foot exercises on blood sugar levels during type II diabetes mellitus in the Cot Manyang area. Research design pretest-posttest control group design. Statistical tests using Paired t-test, Wilcoxon, Independent t-test. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The sample in this study were 32 patients with type II DM in the Cawas 1 Health Center Work area. The measuring instruments used were observation sheets and Glucose Cholesteror Acid (GCU). Paired t-test results on the average pretest-posttest blood sugar levels of the experimental group obtained a pvalue of 0.000. The Wilcoxon test results on the mean pretest-posttest blood sugar levels of the control group obtained a pvalue of 0.079. Independent t-test results on the difference in blood sugar levels during the experimental and control groups pvalue 0.000. There is a difference in the mean pretest-posttest blood sugar levels of the experimental group. There is no difference in the mean pretest-posttest blood sugar levels of the control group. There is an effect of foot exercises on blood sugar levels during type II diabetes mellitus. Patients with type II DM are expected to do foot exercises regularly 4 times a week.
