HUBUNGAN DUKUNGAN KELUARGA DENGAN DEPRESI PADA PASIEN KANKER SERVIKS DI RSUD MEURAXA BANDA ACEH

Abstract


Cervical cancer is cancer that occurs in the cervix which is the organ that connects the vagina and uterus and is caused by the Human papillomavirus (HPV) virus. The impact of cervical cancer patients can cause psychological problems that can occur depression. When a cervical cancer patient is depressed, a patient needs a coping mechanism. The main source of coping for patients is family support. This type of research is quantitative research. This study focuses and explains the relationship between variables. The place where this research was carried out was Meuraxsa Hospital in Aceh  at the Obgyn Oncology Poly. This research method is descriptive correlation using an approach that is Cross Sectional. Obtained a sample of 85 respondents. From the results of research, most family support is in the Good category of 60 respondents, then the second is 23 respondents and less 2 respondents. For the level of depression, 61 respondents for mild depression and 24 respondents for moderate depression. The result of rank-spearman analysis test obtained p-value =0.001. Conclusion: There is a relationship between family support and the level of depression in cervical cancer patients. Correlation Coefficient concluded the relationship between family support and the level of depression in patients with cervical cancer is strong.
