Abstract

Quail eggshells are easily damaged due to impact and microorganisms. Cracked eggs result in contamination from bacteria such as Salmonella, E. Coli, and Coliform which can be dangerous if consumed and cause economic losses. One of the measures to improve the quality of quail eggs is to add prosin supplement into the feed. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Each replication consisted of 6 female quails, with 120 quails in total. The treatments consisted of Treatment A (prosin 0%), Treatment B (prosin 1%), Treatment C (prosin 2%), and Treatment D (prosin 3%). The results showed that there were significant differences between treatments. On average, the lowest eggshell thickness was found in the control treatment (prosin 0%), while the greatest shell thickness was found in Treatment B (prosin 1%).
