Potensi Tepung Cacing Tanah Sebagai Sumber Protein Terhadap Pertumbuhan Ikan Cupang (Betta splendens)

Abstract


Betta fish is one of the freshwater ornamental fishes that is very popular with the community. Betta fish growth is relatively slow so it requires a long time in maintenance. The content of dietary protein is thought to be one of the factors that is very instrumental in supporting the growth of betta fish. Earthworms have the potential to be used as a source of protein in feed. The purpose of the research to increase the growth of betta fish by feeding different protein contents which are sourced from earthworm flour. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, as the treatment was feeding with protein content of 15%, 25%, 35% and 45%. Betta fish used in length measuring 1.5-2 cm with a body weight of 0.19 grams. Observation parameters were survival rate, absolute weight growth, absolute length growth and specific growth rate. The results showed that the giving of earthworm flour in feed as a source of protein did not have a significant effect between treatments (P> 0.05). The best results were obtained in treatment C (35%) with a survival rate of 100%, length growth of 4.2 cm, absolute weight growth of 0.67 grams and specific growth rate of 1.50%.
