The Use of Cartoon Movies in Improving Students' Vocabulary Mastery

Abstract


his research was intended to find out the effectiveness of using cartoon movies in improving students’ mastery of English vocabulary. The pre- experimental research was used in this research. This research was conducted at a Private English Course.  The samples of this study were six students of fifth grade in Elementary school. The researcher used pre-test, treatment and posttest to collect the data. The result of pre-test showed the mean score is 61. After the treatment, the mean score of posttest is 83.  It means that the mean score of vocabulary mastery test of posttest is higher than the mean score of pre-test. So, it can be stated that the use of cartoon movie has a good effect on students’ vocabulary mastery.
