Data Availability and Reproducibility

Jurnal Aceh Medika supports transparent and reproducible research. This policy sets out what authors must say about their data, code, and methods, and how access is handled when data cannot be shared openly.

1. Data Availability Statement

  • Every manuscript must include a Data Availability Statement before the References section (see the Article Template).
  • The statement must say where the data, code, protocols, and other supporting materials can be accessed, for example a public repository with a DOI (such as Zenodo, Figshare, or Mendeley Data), supplementary files submitted with the article, or the corresponding author on reasonable request.
  • If the data cannot be shared, the authors must explain why (for example patient privacy, ethical restrictions, or third-party ownership) and say how qualified researchers can ask for access.

2. Reproducibility

  • The Methods section must describe the design, sample, instruments, and analysis in enough detail for another researcher to repeat the study.
  • Questionnaires, interview guides, and other instruments should be provided as supplementary files when they are not already published.
  • Studies must follow the relevant reporting guideline (STROBE, CONSORT, CARE, or PRISMA).

3. Protecting people and rights

  • Data about people must be anonymised so that participants cannot be identified, and sharing must follow the ethical approval and the informed consent given.
  • Authors must respect confidentiality, personal data protection, and the intellectual property of others.

4. Requests and compliance

  • Editors and reviewers may ask authors for the underlying data during review. Reviewers handle such data in confidence.
  • If concerns about the data arise after publication, the editors may ask the authors to provide it. Failure to do so may lead to a correction or retraction under the Correction, Retraction, and Research Misconduct policy.
